Why would I want personal training?
Well, to begin with, it’s not because you’re lazy.
Maybe you’ve never been to a gym before and have no idea how to use the equipment.
Maybe you’re looking to get fit for the first time in your life and know nothing about correct technique or posture.
Or maybe you are just out of the routine of physical exercise, and could do with a coach to get you back into it and keep you motivated.
It’s a really human thing to find it easier to take action when someone else is keeping you company and sharing their expert knowledge about the thing you are attempting to do. This isn’t a sign of weak will or lack of motivation on your part—it’s completely normal. (Avi is a personal trainer with years of experience, and even he trains better with someone keeping him accountable and pushing him that little bit further than he otherwise might go.)
It’s about having someone else with a vested interest in your success. Different people have trainers for different lengths of time. Some just want help getting started before they taper off on the personal training and maintain their own fitness routines. Others prefer to have someone else hold them accountable, so they keep a trainer on board indefinitely. And some people have specific goals they want to achieve, tending to stick with their trainer until these goals have been reached. Personal training is just that—personal. Customised to you and what you want and need. It’s all good.
Having a personal trainer is a lifestyle choice you make when you decide to invest in your own health and fitness. It’s one of the best investments you can make.
