What people say about IDF

SOME THINGS PEOPLE HAVE WRITTEN ABOUT US
letter of thanks ~ Operation Stitches
Dear Avraham
We at Operation Stitches would like to thank you and your organisation for sending an instructor from IDF Training to be the instructor of our pilot self defence program with Richmond inner-city kids.
An increased migrant intake in recent years on these public housing estates has also increased ethnic tensions in these communities with several youth gangs and faction groups emerging who carry weapons and terrorise many of their peers. This has created fear within their local community to walk home from school or other outdoor events.
This project has provided access to young people who otherwise due to socio-economic factors, would not be able to participate in free self defence classes.
Jonathan is so good with the kids and is a real asset to the program. The kids really respect him and are gaining confidence and self discipline through the valuable techniques he is imparting in self defence.
We certainly hope that we will be able to facilitate similar classes in the future.
We have no hesitation in highly recommending IDF Training to any group wanting to receive professional training. Best Regards ~ Patrick Templeton, CEO
To IDF Training,Thank you for providing such an awesome night for our youth group!
We had originally wanted to find a new activity for us to share in – something different from our usual pattern of eating out, watching movies and playing games. After a brief search we decided to give Krav Maga a shot – and it was great! Thank you for being so easy to make arrangements with and also a big thank you to Daniel who took such good care of our group.
The young people who participated absolutely loved the introduction to Krav Maga session which was held for us on the Friday. Overall, not only did we have a blast whilst getting in a pretty serious workout, but we also left with a greater sense of security, confidence and almost all of our kids asked if we could do more nights at the IDF Training centre out in Caulfield. Though it is a bit of an effort to organize transport for 20-30 young people, it is well worth it and we’ll definitely be in touch to arrange future sessions with IDF Training.
I have also recommended IDF Training to a few friends from other community and corporate groups. I have no doubt that they will be keen to get in touch with IDF Training very soon after hearing the very positive feedback given from our youth group.
Once again, thanks to Avraham, Daniel and the entire IDF Training team for providing such a fun, positive and confidence boosting session for all our members. ~ Jonathan Tran, Impact Youth Coordinator
Dear Avi and Daniel,
Thank you so much for teaching our students Krav Maga yesterday.
The kids had such a good time at your studio and many have commented that they would like to pick up Krav Maga as a regular afterschool activity.
We really appreciate you giving your time and energy for our school. The students very much appreciated your session and have been talking about it with their friends ever since.
I hope that we can book you in again for our Yom Iyun conference next year. ~ Leibler Yavneh College
I’d like to say that the Two-day course was very informative! I learnt that when we’re in a situation that isn’t comfortable for us, we shouldn’t be ashamed or embarrassed to use our voices. I found myself in a situation a few weeks ago on a tram, where I had to use my voice assertively (the whole ‘back off! Leave me alone!’) on a guy who was making me feel VERY uncomfortable. I did feel nervous about using my voice so loud and assertively, but at least it alerted the other commuters to this guy causing trouble.
Another great thing I learnt was being more aware of my surroundings. Being South African, watching our backs and being aware is like second nature to us, but I learnt that I can be a lot more aware! So that’ll take some practice.
Thanks and well done on the course. Keep up the good work ~ J T
Dear Jordan,
I am writing to express my thanks to you for facilitating the “Go Home Safe” workshop.
Whilst I was suitably impressed by your level of expertise, I was equally encouraged by the genuine desire you had to positively impact the lives of those you were training.
Your anecdotes were memorably engaging and aptly illustrated just how practical the Krav Maga system and philosophy of self-defence actually is. And although a couple of the exercises were indeed uncomfortable (by design!), the simulation of real life situations provided me with impactful learning in a short amount of time.
Like most women, my upbringing and society have conditioned me not to raise my voice or to act aggressively in any circumstance. Therefore I was sincerely appreciative for how safe you made the ‘posturing’ exercise feel. Moreover, I will remember to always trust my instincts and will never again tell myself, “it’s probably nothing”. Your tips for increasing awareness will take a lot of practise to master, however I shall continue to challenge myself in order to remain cognisant of my surroundings.
In between your first and last training session, I have read Geoff Thompson’s “The Art Of Fighting Without Fighting” and have watched various youtube clips, including the Krav Maga “Human Weapon” episode and interviews with Roy Elghanayan. Along with your teachings, all of this additional information has served to further my interest in martial arts principles. As a result, I intend to enrol in Krav Maga classes at IDF Melbourne in the near future.
Jordan, even though I could never hope to become as accomplished or disciplined as you, I have been inspired to strengthen my mind, body and spirit through Krav Maga. I have you to thank for this.
Please accept my deepest gratitude for providing me with such a constructive, life-changing experience. You are a gifted communicator.
Ps- I would love my parents and a few of their friends to participate in a similar course.
~ Sona Thacore.
Dear Jordan,
Gabrielle and I completed your course yesterday. I wanted to thank you for creating and implementing an outstanding program.
I enrolled in the course to equip Gabrielle with the tools for getting home safe. That is what you have delivered in a very comprehensive and thorough approach. She now practises increased awareness, and is developing that skill, and has the game plan that I am sure she will be able to employ. The course has contributed to her increased confidence in travelling without an adult, and in general.
I didn’t expect to have such major gains for myself. I now feel more empowered, knowing that I have a strategy to protect myself and my kids. ~ Debbie Arnheim
After doing 6 years of mixed martial arts what I learned is no where near as practical or realistic as Krav Maga (at IDF Training Melbourne Australia) – This is real self defence based on what can and will happen on the street and these classes will prepare you. ~ Michael Paz
If every lesson is like the one I just experienced today then I can definitely say IDF Training Melbourne Australia is one of the few places teaching Krav Maga how it should be taught. A big thanks to Avi for opening up the gym and spreading the word of true Krav Maga and Benjy for giving us a taste of his training in Israel and pushing us to the limit. Absolutely love it. If time permits I’ll be there at least twice a week. ~ Don Zander
Krav Maga (at IDF Training Melbourne Australia) is the most intense physical training with martial arts thrown in together with real life self defense system that is known to man. ~ James Tom
I have been training Krav Maga and using the gym facilities for the last few months.
Krav Maga is a seriously intense cardio work out while learning some useful techniques in a great environment with great trainers and students. You push your self to your limits while having a lot of fun too.~ Shimon Goldman
Our son had his 8th birthday party at IDF Training Melbourne Australia. It was a Krav Maga, kid’s training session and it was AWESOME. 18 boys (and one girl), learning how to defend themselves in a simulated session – Israel Army style. They were running a crawling and kicking, and shouting and punching: but with the aim being “defence”. The trainers; Avi and Jordan, did the most amazing job at keeping all the kids focussed, and motivated. They all went home with a sense of pride at having done the class and having learnt new skills for self defence. We had fun just watching them all. BRILLIANT STUFF. ~ Tammy Pakula Reznik
Hi all. Juan here. Novice Krav Maga student, poet, professional writer, musician, singer, aspiring hip hop artist, cook and uni student -Arts/Diploma of Journalism, La Trobe University. I am a Cancer and Vascular disease patient, and I for one can vouch that there is nothing better than the service provided at IDF Training – Krav Maga Melbourne Australia. These guys are class acts, who are not only professional at what they do, but genuinely care for the wellbeing of their students. Friendly, clean atmosphere, great, professional service, all in the vein of promoting not only self defense, but also self esteem, self confidence, and all round well being. Well done, Avi, Benji, Daniel, all the team at IDF Training – Krav Maga Melbourne Australia. Truly inspirational, legendary stuff that will personally help me combat the Leukemia while I am undergoing treatment. Thank you for all your support, from the bottom of my heart. ~ Juanito Martinez
I’ve only been doing Krav Maga for a few weeks, but am very happy with the training so far. Staff are friendly and helpful and the moves learned are practical and don’t require vast amounts of strength or fitness. Might save your life in real time. Recommended. ~ Deb Lee Preclikova
Krav Maga is very good for you. It’s good for your health, your well being, your confidence and it gets you fit!!! So to all those people out there who are not doing Krav Maga, you don’t know what you’re missing out on!! Come and join!! And I would like to thank Avi and Jordon for making a class for only women and for teaching me!!! HiYAH!!!!!! ~ Miriam Greenwald
Great classes that I encourage everyone to have a crack at, regardless of age or physical stature!!!! It’s not just self-defence it also sharpens the mind, it’s efficient, and goes beyond the basic hand-to-hand combat, teaching you to avoid dangerous situations! It’s even motivating me to get fit in my own time! And if G-d forbid I should ever have to apply what I have learned, I feel I’d be able to do so with confidence! ~ Miri Szepes
I have recommended your courses to everyone i know – it was great for my kids. Not only did they enjoy it but i could see the benefit from the first minute they started. Keep up the good work – i must say, i got a few tips myself! ~ Daniella Gozlan
IDF training Melbourne Australia is an AMAZING place. Training prices are very competitive, if not THE cheapest Krav Maga sessions in all of Melbourne, Australia. They even offer a discount to concession card holders – a nice touch. The trade-off is that training sessions are an hour rather than one and a half hours. However, this is a great help to those like me, who lack fitness (yet!) – makes it easier to endure.
Avi Yemini, the boss, is a true mentch, as we say in yiddish (I dunno if I can give a good english translation of the term, but it implies an upstanding human being). He has an amazing way of making everyone feel comfortable and at ease whilst still being ever the drill sergeant and personal trainer, motivating us to push onward! Young, old, male, female, newbie, experienced, he makes sure that everyone feels welcome and motivated!
The trainers? Ryan is brilliant. He and Avi are birds of a feather – the kind of commander a soldier can only dream of. It’s even pleasant to have him bark orders at you! Benji? Mr X-MAN as Avi refers to him, is brilliant – just don’t be shy to speak up! Overall, I love the atmosphere. These guys have actually created an environment where you can learn how to protect yourself if need be whilst encouraging respect for one another (and the rest of humanity). ~ Elly Bromberg
Great place, great workout, great training! I’ve been to many gyms and trained in many places around the world, IDF Training Melbourne Australia is certainly a top of the line facility, with knowledgeable instructors and a great atmosphere. I only meant to take a class or two to check it out, but now I’m hooked!!~ Jordan Abir
Been the best Krav Centre I’ve ever trained at! ~ Greg Samuels
